Data sources
Area Intelligence Map combines public datasets, fetched directly in your browser, for the area you are viewing. Coverage and freshness vary by provider and jurisdiction.
Housing & demographics
U.S. Census Bureau — American Community Survey (ACS), served via Esri Living Atlas feature services. Median home value, household income, contract rent, and homeownership by census tract. Public domain (U.S. Government work); Esri Living Atlas hosting subject to Esri terms.
Geography
U.S. Census TIGERweb ZIP Code Tabulation Area (ZCTA) boundaries. ZCTAs approximate USPS ZIP service areas for mapping and are not official USPS delivery boundaries. Public domain.
Crime context
Municipal open-data portals (e.g. Socrata-hosted city police datasets) discovered via the OpenPoliceData source index where available, with each city's own public license. Where no municipal feed exists, the map uses FBI / Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) NIBRS state-level baselines for context. Crime figures are reported and classified differently by every agency and are presented as a relative context index, not an official crime rate.
Hazards & reference overlays
FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer (NFHL) flood zones and U.S. Forest Service Fireshed Registry, as public reference overlays. Point-of-interest overlays (schools, parks, grocery, hospitals, transit, libraries, trails) come from OpenStreetMap via the Overpass API — © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL).
Search & listings
Location search uses the Esri World Geocoding Service (subject to Esri terms) plus local ZIP/ZCTA matching. “View homes” links are user-initiated outbound searches to Realtor.com; this site does not scrape or republish listing data.
